A New Woodshed

We chose to remain in Canada over this past winter while our sailboat remained on land in Mexico.   With this extended length of time in Ocean Falls we had the chance to do a lot of work for other people, and to also get a lot of projects completed on our own property.      The woodshed that came with our house was long and narrow, and had a very low ceiling.   This low ceiling was quite annoying, as it required that we remain bent over at all times to move wood around.   On top of that, it had been built directly onto the ground, resulting in much of the shed becoming very rotten, and the heavy snowfall over the winter of 2022 when we were in Mexico was not kind to its structural integrity.   Therefore, one of our high-priority projects was to build a new and bigger woodshed.    We started by removing all of our dry firewood from inside, and then Jason proceeded to take the old woodshed apart.   This required that he carry much of ...

September 26,  2024 It has been way too long since I have written an update for the blog.   Sorry about that.   Falcon is almost 22 months old, and computer work is a challenging thing to get done with him always wanting to be involved in what I am doing, so needless to say, blog writing has taken a back burner.     Many of you will already know much of what we have been up to over the past year and a bit, but some of you may not, and I thought that either way I would write up some quick summary notes and post some pictures.  Most of the pictures are of Falcon, as he is the love of our lives.    Lucky for us, given that we live in Ocean Falls where it rains a lot, Falcon enjoys being out in the rain.       And he really enjoys climbing into and onto things, perhaps just to see if he can fit.  And, because of his love of climbing, we built him a climbing wall, on which he has gotten quite proficient.
