About Us

Since 2012 we have been fixing up our girl to go cruising and in the fall of 2015 we moved aboard. This was a very exciting day for us which involved a huge purge of our belongings. We moved from a three story town house and had all the unnecessary items to go along with it. It was somewhat freeing getting rid of so much stuff that we didn’t need. We kept just one small storage space for our camping gear and project pieces.
Jason and I have always loved the outdoors and before we bought our girl we used to be out in the forest almost every weekend, camping, hiking, bush-wacking to some remote lake, or canoeing. We would camp straight through the winter, rain or shine.

When projects started on our boat, especially after we moved aboard and the object of preparing to “sail away” became more attainable, fun time out in nature got less and less. Our learning curve in regards to various boat projects was pretty much as steep as it could be.
I started working at North Shore Yacht Works in North Vancouver at the marina where our boat was moored and started attending a four year apprenticeship program in 2014 to become a marine service technician. I was learning both in school and at work each day. Jason and I would also do our own research into a project and figure it out as we went.
