Onward to Puerto Vallarta and Canada

April 21, 2025
On the morning of April 21st we wrapped up all of the last minute things that had to be done on the Red Witch, and then travelled by taxi to our air bnb in Puerto Vallarta.
We had found a personal driver who took us the 4.5 hour drive for a good price.  He also spoke some English, and was very knowledgeable about the area.  We learned a lot from him about farming in the area, where their fresh water came from, and what life was like in the area.
He was also quite happy to make stops for us to show us things, but because we didn’t want the trip to turn into too long of a drive, we only stopped twice.
Once was at a crocodile lagoon viewpoint, which Falcon enjoyed.  Falcon did very well on the drive, and although we wound our way through the hills and farmlands he showed no signs of feeling unwell.
We spent three nights in Puerto Vallarta before our flight back to Canada.
We went for a long walk along the beach and seawall, and enjoyed it, although it was very busy and touristy, which is not the types of areas that we usually enjoy.
Unfortunately, I then got sick with a cold, so we didn’t venture much further than the local park and playground.
It was quite an impressive park area as it had sections for almost every activity.
There was a children's playground, an adult exercise playground, soccer field, baseball diamond, tennis courts, basketball courts, squash courts, and a boxing ring training area.
On April 24th, the day of our flight back to Canada, our check-out time was at 11:00, but since our flight wasn’t until 5:00, our host let us stay the extra time as they had no one booked into the place that day.  It was much nicer to wait the extra time at our air bnb, and we then travelled to the airport at a more appropriate time.
Falcon quite enjoyed watching the airplanes and all of the ground-crew vehicles before our flight.  As we explored around the airport we were astounded to see the prices of everything.  A small bottle of brand name Fuji water was about $20 Canadian, and a slice of pizza was $28.  Crazy!!
Once we were on board and in the air we ate the dinner that we had luckily brought with us, and then Falcon easily fell asleep.
He slept until we picked him up when it was time to get off of the plane in Kelowna, BC.  We were back in Canada!

  2. Crazy prices! That is always something to consider when traveling, how much is the food? I is nice that things went smoothly on your way home. I know you have been home for a while but welcome home.
