A Few Days of Being Home

May 14, 2025
Our first two days after being home in Ocean Falls were sunny.
We enjoyed our quiet time together as a family doing things together outside around the house.
The lawn got mowed, weed whacking was done, the lawn got raked, garden beds all got weeded, potatoes and onions planted, raspberries trimmed and tied up, and lots of other fun chores.
We were in our own peaceful corner of the world and did not see another person for several days.  It was the first time in a very long time that we had been so removed from people, and it was quite nice.
When the Ocean Falls rain returned we finished getting all of our boxes unpacked and our house reorganized.  With being back in Ocean Falls, after being gone for over 8 months, it is so amazing to see how much Falcon has changed.
We can so clearly remember how he was in specific situations before we left last September, and so it is incredibly obvious how much he has grown up.  He used to need help going up and down our 29 steps, and he can now go up and down easily on his own.
We used to have to hold his hand for him to walk on our uneven and sloping terraces, now he walks confidently and safely around on them on his own.  He can also now climb up onto and go down his large big-kid slide on his own with us being at the bottom to help him come off safely.
He has definitely grown from a toddler into a little boy.

  1. Lot of chores but fun ones for sure. You are correct, a toddler no more.

  2. Falcon is growing fast and as time goes by you will see time slip by. In a way it is sad but the adventure with growing kids is here and the joy you have will last forever. Falcon loves to help, now but when he gets a little older you may have to bribe him. Noah (our grandson) used to help us all the time now that he is 6 ... not so much. Glad you keep us updated.❤️
