A Trip to Nova Scotia

April 20th - May 3rd, 2023  
On April 20th, Jason, Falcon and I took the ferry back over to Vancouver to board a flight across the country to go and visit with Jason’s family in Nova Scotia. 

 We spent two weeks with his family, and we also took some time to travel to the town in which Jason was born. 
During our time in Nova Scotia, Falcon rolled over for the first time, which of course was the first of many rolls to come. 
Falcon also experienced his first swing, his first quad ride, and the opportunity to jump around in a jolly jumper. 


We were also treated to a lot of good down-home cooking from Jason’s mom, and a true Nova Scotia lobster feast.  There were some massive lobsters at the table that night, with the largest one being for Jason. 
It was the biggest lobster that Jason had ever seen, as it was over 5lbs and about as long as Falcon! 
Then, after a wonderful visit, it was back to British Columbia again for another very busy few weeks.

    Wow, a 5 lb lobster!!! There is nothing better than a trip to the east coast and fresh lobster. Did the same thing when I was there last visiting my sister and some friends in Cape Breton. Falcon rolling over - very cool video.

    I think Falcon has traveled more in his short life then me 🤣 He is a lucky boy and growing so fast.

September 26,  2024 It has been way too long since I have written an update for the blog.   Sorry about that.   Falcon is almost 22 months old, and computer work is a challenging thing to get done with him always wanting to be involved in what I am doing, so needless to say, blog writing has taken a back burner.     Many of you will already know much of what we have been up to over the past year and a bit, but some of you may not, and I thought that either way I would write up some quick summary notes and post some pictures.  Most of the pictures are of Falcon, as he is the love of our lives.    Lucky for us, given that we live in Ocean Falls where it rains a lot, Falcon enjoys being out in the rain.       And he really enjoys climbing into and onto things, perhaps just to see if he can fit.  And, because of his love of climbing, we built him a climbing wall, on which he has gotten quite proficient. A Fantastic Birthday

September 9th (Wednesday) Our first day off after our 8-day shift, and it was also my birthday.  I enjoyed what felt like a nice long sleep-in as compared to getting up at 05:45 for work, and then Jason gave me my birthday presents and made me a delicious brunch of blueberry pancakes, bacon, and sausages.  Then we were off to the lake.  It was a beautiful, sunny day and glassy calm as we planed our way along the lake.  We went down to the south end to check it out and explore, as we had never been down to that end before.   As the sun got hotter we wanted to enjoy it, and to go swimming, so we headed to our perfect picnic and swimming area of Triple Falls.  There we enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of relaxing and swimming.  The water felt quite a bit cooler than it had the last time that we were there, so our refreshing swims were brief. First Things First

November 25, 2024  Our first priority in La Paz was to order our new solar panels.   We had priced them out and sourced them at different locations before getting here, but we were unable to pre-order them before going into the store to pay for them.   Once they were ordered we focused on other things on our to do list, which included getting Falcon to the beachside playground.   He did so well on the slides, and got to go on a "big kid" swing for the first time, and he loves to swing.   We also went for several walks around areas that we knew from the last time that we were here.   One of these included a walk past the Airbnb where Falcon was born.   Almost everyday we visited the El Magote beach, which we knew so well from many long walks previously.
