Travel Back to British Columbia
March
23-25, 2023
On
March 23rd we traveled by cab/private car to Hermosillo. Over the previous week, we had become good
friends with the woman who worked in the marina office. She had a nine-month old daughter, and the
woman absolutely loved getting to hang out with Falcon. We stopped in to see her most days. She had kindly arranged for someone she knew
to drive us from Guaymas to Hermosillo. So,
we thankfully avoided the hassles of catching a bus, and we enjoyed the scenic
drive and ease of getting dropped off at our hotel.
Our
hotel was not as relaxing as we had hoped it would be, as it turned out to be
quite noisy both in the daytime and all through the night. Nonetheless, after being in the boat on the
hard with no running water, we relished being in a large, open living space and
having hot showers.
After
the busyness of prepping the boat for hibernation, we enjoyed our last day in
Mexico by going out for a walk to explore the area, where we saw some lovely
flowers and large orange trees.
Then early in the morning on Saturday, March 25th, we caught an uber to the airport and began our 24 hours of travel before we would arrive in Kelowna, British Columbia on Sunday morning. We had four flights in that time period, and also seven hours at a hotel in Edmonton.
Falcon did amazing; he was such a good traveler. On the first flight we could tell that he was a bit nervous with all of the sounds of take-off and landing, but after that first flight the other ones didn't seem to bother him at all.

What a handsome lad you have! Sounds like a grueling flight scenario, glad Falcon has become a good traveler. Welcome home.
ReplyDeleteFalcon is such a cool kid (with gorgeous blue eyes!) I don't think anything could upset him. For a child so young he's lived quite the life!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your adventures. I look forward to more this fall.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing you and your lovely family on your way home, thanks. Take care and keep sending pictures.
