A Mix of Weather

March 2nd – 16th

On this last two-week shift we had a lot of mixed weather.  Many nights it snowed, and then it would rain through the day.   

 
It was wet and around two degrees most of the time, but we did have several beautiful days of sun. 
By our last sunny day on our shift we had sunshine from 09:30 – 15:35; what a change from one month ago.  On one of the sunny days we had a heavy shower pass through, and as it passed us by a beautiful double rainbow appeared. 

Another sunny day we had snow pellets falling for at least an hour while it was sunny.  It was very pretty.

 

The light in the distance is from the reflection from inside our house.

Although we had fresh snow again just a few days ago, spring really is on its way.  The crocuses are up, and when I looked back to my pictures from last year, it seems that they are up at almost exactly the same time. 

We are now really looking forward to our two weeks off from March 16th to 30th!

    Yes those crocus are a sign of the time to come. Definitely a mixed bag of weather. Nice rainbow!

A Fantastic Birthday

September 9th (Wednesday) Our first day off after our 8-day shift, and it was also my birthday.  I enjoyed what felt like a nice long sleep-in as compared to getting up at 05:45 for work, and then Jason gave me my birthday presents and made me a delicious brunch of blueberry pancakes, bacon, and sausages.  Then we were off to the lake.  It was a beautiful, sunny day and glassy calm as we planed our way along the lake.  We went down to the south end to check it out and explore, as we had never been down to that end before.   As the sun got hotter we wanted to enjoy it, and to go swimming, so we headed to our perfect picnic and swimming area of Triple Falls.  There we enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of relaxing and swimming.  The water felt quite a bit cooler than it had the last time that we were there, so our refreshing swims were brief. First Things First

November 25, 2024  Our first priority in La Paz was to order our new solar panels.   We had priced them out and sourced them at different locations before getting here, but we were unable to pre-order them before going into the store to pay for them.   Once they were ordered we focused on other things on our to do list, which included getting Falcon to the beachside playground.   He did so well on the slides, and got to go on a "big kid" swing for the first time, and he loves to swing.   We also went for several walks around areas that we knew from the last time that we were here.   One of these included a walk past the Airbnb where Falcon was born.   Almost everyday we visited the El Magote beach, which we knew so well from many long walks previously.
