A Grocery Order and A Lovely Dinner Out

March 15th (Sunday)

On Sunday we were off to work again. It was day seven in a row, and we were looking forward to taking Monday off.
It was another beautiful sunny day, although there was still a steady, northerly wind blowing out of Cousins Inlet. From inside it looked warm outside, but stepping outside the wind whisked any warmth away and made us shiver.
I started the morning off by making our next food order on the Save On Foods website. Dorothy had come by to see us yesterday and let us know that the website was being overloaded by people who no longer wanted to go to the store to shop, due to the Coronavirus. The website was not prepared for such a high usage, and so apparently Gladys had spent several hours on Saturday trying to get onto the web site to place her order.
We decided to try it first thing, so that if we could not get on, we would have all day to keep trying. This was our last day to place an order for the next barge. Seemingly, however, early on a Sunday morning was not a popular time to be up and ordering food, and I was lucky and got on right away, although I did see the warnings on the site saying that if the site was not working properly it was because they were experiencing high usage and to try again later. It will be interesting to see how much of the food that we ordered we will actually get. From what we have been hearing, many of the grocery store shelves are empty, so I suspect that we may be unable to get many of the items that we have requested.
We spent the day working on more sanding, including the kitchen cabinets and drawers, and hand sanding the ceiling moulding.

We also sanded our patches from yesterday, and did a second fill on any of the areas that needed it. We stopped work early, at 16:00, had our showers, and headed home.
At 18:30, Ken, not the wharfinger Ken, but another Ken that lives in Martin Valley, came to pick us up, and he took us to his place to have dinner. His wife, Shelly, had made us an amazing dinner of mushroom raviolis in an Alfredo sauce, with prawns and pine nuts, and roasted broccoli. It was delicious, and beautifully presented. We had a lovely evening visiting with them, before Ken drove us back home at 23:30.
